It may sound a little absurd and pricey, but I mean, think about it?? You are not only raising awareness by showing you support a cure for breast cancer, or shoes for kids who don't have any, or giving hope to the hopeless, you monetarily gave to wear the items. Plus, you need clothes anyways. Your birthday suit is not acceptable in public, just in case you enjoy your nudity more than the average person.WHAT IF MY ENTIRE WARDROBE WAS MADE UP OF CLOTHES SUPPORTING CHARITIES??
Anyways, so I was doing some research about what all clothes you can buy besides the obvious t-shirts to support charities and raise awareness. This is what I've found so far...

Pretty cool, huh?? And there are plenty more. However, my research did find, and is reflected above, that most of the "awareness apparel" is for breast cancer. Of course that's important! My great grandmother died from breast cancer. However, I would LOVE to see more charities and non-profits marketing apparel for their cause. Let's talk about some pros for non-profits/charities marketing apparel.
-There are people out there suffering and/or passionate about these non-profits/charities who are incredibly talented or have awesome connections! I have no doubt in my mind they wouldn't hesitate to donate time, talent, and resources to these non-profits to design and produce the apparel.
-Let's look at non-profits like TWLOHA. They have catchy designs and advocate on their website, Facebook, Twitter, etc. People like what TWLOHA does and what they stand for. That's how they've grown. That and support from bands like Anberlin and Boys Like Girls. Or let's take a look at all the breast cancer awareness charities like Susan G. Komen. Breast cancer isn't even the leading cause of death in women. But, boy, do they have marketing!! And the pink ribbon!!! Everyone knows that pink ribbon means breast cancer. But there are lists of what every color ribbon means. Plus there are multi color ribbons too!
I mean, I would love to have underwear supporting HIV/AIDS awareness, a breast cancer bra, poverty awareness jacket, fair trade international women's rights jeans, etc. And man, if I had the money, I would SERIOUSLY have a wardrobe made up of most, if not all, clothes supporting charities and non-profits. And I know the idea appeals to others.
So I'm appealing to all non-profits, charities, and people who stand up for something and are passionate: Yes, our country is in a recession. But passion, pain, and healing surpass any effect from the state of the economy. People want to be a part of something bigger than themselves. I would lovelovelove to help create something and wear ALL of the apparel. Give us an opportunity!!
