California

Welp, I was gonna post earlier today, but got distracted trying to catch up on Glee (which I have of yet still to finish the last episode) and found a ANTM cycle 11 marathon (that's America's Next Top Model for those of you not in the loop).

I made it safe and sound to sunny California! Flying by myself really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Of course. I always psych myself out... always. Oh well... But I made it. Already have had some interesting/fun experiences. Got to eat awesome pizza from Pizza Nova right near the airport. You of course always encounter some weird people flying. And sitting in the O'Hare airport for over 2.5 hrs I had hoped to see someone famous... I think I saw a US mens sports teams (as that's what their warm up suits hinted at) but I couldn't really tell from what they looked like or what they were holding. But that's it for "famous"...

Also you would think that a 3 hour time difference isn't that bad... but man... it's totally throwing me off!! I woke up at 6:15 am San Diego time (which is 9:15 am MI/IN time) and I was just like... what the heck!! I haven't seen this early in I don't even know how long!!! What do you do with yourself with that much time on your hands. I saw the McLanes off and then I got ready for the day, ate some breakfast, and went off to explore what I could on foot. There's a nice little strip mall not 3 blocks from here. Most of the shops don't open until 9-10 am... and even if they say that on the window they apparently operate on South American time and open on their leisure. Good to remember. Had an interesting convo with a petition lady outside of Von's (grocery store)... involuntarily... It ended up her telling me her life story and then wanting to know mine. She got the brief story. very brief. Esp since she wanted to know very personal things like where i was living, who I was living with. I ended up being vague. That was the craziest part of my day. I went around taking pics and figuring out where I was. I came back, ate lunch (which was leftover pizza) and just relaxing cuz my body is freaking out and doesn't know what the heck time it is. It's almost 6 here which is almost 9 back home and my body sure feels like it's almost 9... Anyways Kristen came home and then we went out and picked up the kids from school, came back, chilled for a few, played with the kids, talked with Kristen and now back to just chilling. Travelling + 3 hr time difference + my body = (obviously) serious issues.

On a brighter note, it's gorgeous here!! So much warmer than I had anticipated!! Since i was told it's only in the 60s. The farther you are from the water the warmer it is. Which we are a decent distance away but not too terribly far. Just not walking distance. But we're pretty close to San Diego State University which is kinda nice except all the college students have left for the summer. Apparently that's kinda good cuz that's the party school around here.

Ok I think that's going to be all for now. Maybe some more later when I get the opportunity to do more, see more, and am not so out of it...
