I think one word to sum up everything would have to be REFRESHING.
And I say that not because that's what I wanted it to be. It seriously was.
I got in Wednesday night and drove home and changed and hung out there for a few before heading out to meet Autumn and Jacki at Denny's cuz it was Jacki's birthday. We ate and chatted for awhile and then we went out to the parking lot and goofed off until midnight. It was sooooo good!! And still soooo warm at that time! Thursday I didn't wake up til 1 pm because I was jet lagged and had a long day of travel the day before. I got up, got ready and went and ran errands and got to visit my Meijer ladies (love them!) and then went shopping at Great Lakes Crossing. I got to eat dinner with just my parents cuz my siblings and grandma were on vacation and it was good to just spend quality time with them. Friday was surgery day so I got up, got ready, filled my Rxs, hung out at Caribou in Rochester and then went to my surgery... which went FANTASTICALLY WELL!! It took them a lot shorter then they had anticipated, but they took out the screws from my bone graft, drilled a hole in bone, put in a screw, and then a healing cap and then stitched up everything. It was soooo much more miserable than I had anticipated because, as I quickly found out, my body metabolizes anesthesia fast.... (fun, right??) Soooo honestly, it felt like someone took the fron of my skull and twisted it and then sat on my face for a couple hours... I went home and immediately got in bed and hoped and prayed that the drugs I took on the way home would kick in soon... and within 2 hrs they had.... (I'm sure it was sooner than that but I was napping). So then I just chilled for the rest of the day.
Saturday I went in to the dentist to be molded for a new retainer (or flipper as I know it as...) which was crazy... Then I ran around with my mom running errands, having lunch, and picking up my car that I had left at the surgeons. and then i had dinner with the rents again which was nice. Sunday I woke up late so I went to my parents church in the am and then hung out and went to Lighthouse with Autumn (which was sooooooooooo good and I'm pretty sure God was speaking through Cliff that night directly to me...) and we ended up seeing old friends Lisa and Mark Polley and hung out with them afterwards. And then I drove Autumn home and we had a GREAT conversation!! Not long after I got home, my sibs and grandma got home so we got to hear all about their vacation and went to bed. Monday I got up, got ready and took my sister with me to my Caribou spot. She worked on summer homework while I job hunted and stalked people on facebook. Hey, it's what i do best these days...
Tuesday, I got up early and drove down to Toledo to meet up with Amy Messer who has been studying abroad in Spain all summer. We've been chatting on Facebook and skype most of the summer but it was sooooo good to talk to a friend in person. Especially a Gracie. We met up at a Panera bread and had lunch and chatted for a few hours catching up on things we couldn't talk about online and just being goofy. I love her sooooo much!! I came home in time for a dentist appt to see if my flipper fit (which of course the dentist didn't like the way it fit so it had to be adjusted overnight). Wednesday I ran around in the morning for my brothers and then went to my dentist appt and got my flipper fit right (which of course it doesn't really but since it's just for like 4 months I'm not going to complain right now...) and then met up for a laptop date at Caribou with Autumn. Thursday ran errands for my brother and adjusted into "going back to Cali" mode. I was really antsy being at home knowing I was going to hang out with my Skankfest girls later in the day so I went and hung out at Autumn's for a little bit. We drove out to Mongolian BBQ and met up with Jacki for a belated bday celebration. Yum!! We then drove to Partridge Creek mall and met up with Courtney and saw Dinner for Schmucks (which I thought was pretty darn funny!) and then we drove out to Beamerz and played a couple games of lazer tag. the first 2 games we played with some high schoolers who were there and then we played a third game (free!) by ourselves. Said goodbye to Courtney and Jacki and then went and mooched wireless off of Autumn for a bit. Went home, started laundry, ate dinner, and watched a movie. (i was definitely in a harry potter kick while i was home for some reason).

| Me and Andrea on the OB Fishing Pier (8/7) |
friday I got up, finished my laundry, finished packing, ran a few errands, packed the car, then got dropped off the airport. It was a super long day since I got less than 5 hrs of sleep the night before and my first flight departed at 4:15 pm. and then we were delayed getting into denver because of a lightning storm, and then all flights were delayed getting in and out so we left 1/2 hr late which means i didn't get into san diego til about 11 pm pacific time (2 am easter time). but it was good to see andrea dashe's face at the airport with adam's. she ended up sleeping over (she's visiting family up in LA area) and then we got to hang out with adam this morning going to the little italy mercato and ob (ocean beach)
this might not sound refreshing to you, but it really was. i had so many good conversations about life, God, the church, etc. It's been hard keeping in contact with these people because of the time difference and the craziness of the way life is panning out. But as I mentioned earlier, Lighthouse was soooo good. Even just the worship part was good. I was finally able to let my guard down and able to understand worship. I mean i don't really have anything against adam and kristen's church it's just hard for me to worship because i'm typically concetrating on pronouncing words that i don't know the meaning of... i think that's something i love so much about lighthouse. I know plenty of people who complain about the worship because "it's too loud", "it's too long", "it's too theatrical", etc. but i love how dark it is in the room (even though it makes it hard to find a seat if you come in late) because I have less distractions. i love how loud it is because it helps drown out all the thoughts that are constantly bombarding me. i love the length of it because once i get into worship i never wanna stop! and that goes for no matter where i am... anyways... so Cliff is doing a series through the minor prophets (the end of the old testament) called Dream. We looked a the book of Haggai and talked it through and how it's connected to other OT books (which i love) and man it was good... Here is a link where you can find the podcast (and other podcasts for that matter) and listen to it for yourself. Maybe God will speak to you through it. It just confirms my processing this summer and other things...
